Ikimonogakari Vocalist Kiyoe Yoshioka Releases A Couple of Cuckoos OP Theme MV

Following the song’s digital release, the official YouTube channel for Ikimonogakari vocalist Kiyoe Yoshioka started streaming a full music video for “凸凹” (Dekoboko), the OP theme for the TV anime A Couple of Cuckoos. The song was released digitally on April 24 as her sixth digital single, and its CD single will be available in Japan on June 15 as her second solo single CD.

The pop tune was written/composed by the four-member rock band Ryokuoushoku Shakai‘s guitarist/vocalist Haruko Nagaya, who has been a close friend of Yoshioka’s for some time. “The melody is fresh and vibrant, and the lyrics are exciting to sing,” Yoshioka says of the song. “Haruko Nagaya-chan of Ryokuoushoku Shakai wrote this very nice song for me! I, myself, sang it with a refreshing feeling! I am glad that the song turned out to be so refreshing and perfect for this season. I feel that I was able to deliver a different look with this song than I have in the past. I hope you enjoy it!”

The music video for “凸凹” was directed by HARU, who also directed Yoshioka’s previous music video, “Massara.” The entire footage was shot in various locations, including campus hall and sport ground, with the cooperation of Senzoku Academy in Kanagawa Prefecture. Un Yamada served as the choreographer, adding new color to the song with colorful locations, dancers who appear in places, and Yoshioka’s facial expressions.

The TV anime A Couple of Cuckoos premiered in Japan on April 24, 2022, and its first episode “You’re Going to Be My Boyfriend” is now available for the Crunchyroll Premium members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
